RANDOM THOUGHTS;

The full federal work force is back on the job today. after Fridays deal to temporarily reopen the U.S. Government. The shutdown was the longest in the nations history and likely damaged the countrys economy. This fight over a border wall sent some well paid federal workers to local food pantry’s and forced others to call on relatives and friends for loans, others sought part time jobs. This fiasco has also made some families question wether both spouses should be working for the government. There were missed rent and house payments, late tuition, daycare and loan payments. Frankly some of the solutions offered by some the people tasked with managing some of the agencies that were shutdown borderded on sounding juvenile. One asked why furloughed employees were going to food pantries?. which points to President Trump decision to hire a lot of business people who had little if any experience in the area of government they were being asked to administer, Ben Carson and Betsy DeVos are perfect examples of  people who have  great resumes but no practical experience in the area where they are working and are out of touch with the people they are tasked with serving. President Trump in a nod to his base is already casting a shadow over negotiations saying he doubts he could accept any deal  reached by congressional negotiators that did not include 5.7 billion for a wall along the southern border. The take away here is the president said he would take the blame for the shutdown, but the potential economic damage became too great, his base supporters didn’t like him giving in and repoening the government. So don’t be suprised if he declares a national emergency so he can take money from the military for the wall.
