FRIDAY FAVOR WOAD 12/20/19
38th Annual Craig Bluntson WKXI/WOAD Senior citizens Food give-a-way.Hello we are very greatful for the support we recieved for the 38 Annual Craig Bluntson WKXI/WOAD SENIOR CITIZENS food drive. 2019 has been a trying year for some of us, but we’re happy that the spirit of the season lives in the hearts of our many supporters. Donations of cash, can goods and other non-perishable food items were donated November 29th and December 14th at our remote collection sites at Food Depot on Northside Dr, and Terry Road as well as the Cash Saver on Raymond Rd. Volunteers like Senators Sollie Norwood and Hillman Frazier. WKXI alumnus Herb Anderson, James williams former Repersenative Jim Evans Jackson Businessman Leory Walker, Members of New Caney Creek Church and Sollie B. Norwood Lodge 699 worked together to make this happen. All with the oversite of our long time chairman Frank Bluntson. He could not come out to be with us this year but called often to check on things. Plus we were aided by his son Eric who stepped into his fathers shoes to help coordinate things and his grandson Conner was with us too. We provided food for more than 300 senior citizens who picked up their bags at the Brooks W. Stewart VFW 3610 Sunray Drive on Wednesday of this week. and of course we can’t say enough about those folks at the VFW they always roll out the red carpet for us. Thanks to you all…
