ICE The agency charged with patroling the nations borders, isn’t and was never equipped to handel the current influx of illegal immigrants. This is why ICE planned to arrest and deport families with court ordered removals from 10 cities in late June. This would appear to be orderly and inline with court orders. While ICE’s performance at the southern border reminds me of the “Keystone Cops”they weren’t ready and it seems like they are making it up as they go along, Oh my bad that sounds like the White House doesn’t?. The first mistake was seperating parents and children, the parents know their children and any illness they may have. And should be the ones caring for them pending deportation or whatever. There have been reports of underage children caring for even younger children, and their sleeping on concrete with emergency blankets. Their not getting basic necessities like soap and washcloths or toothbrushes and a Trump administration lawyer tried to argue that these were not needed items. This week it was reported that after some children in one of the camps complained about the taste of water and food, they were retaliated against by having their mattresses were taken away forcing them to sleep on the concrete floor. The sad truth is some of these children may never see their parents again thanks to a flawed agency policy. I fear that we are sowing seeds of hate into the fertile minds of these children who didn’t decide on their own to come to the America. Why do we continue to play defense at the border? why not go on offense and work with countries where we can, to help them give their people a reason to stay home. You don’t have to keep moping up water if you turn off the faucet.
