RANDOM THOUGHT’S:

I have always believed that whatever is going on in the world good or bad, left unchecked will eventually make it to your door. Case in point last Wednesday ICE raided seven locations across central Mississippi. They rounded up close to 680 people in the largest single state worksite enforcement operation in the nation’s history. According to a Homeland Security spokesman 271 of the detainees have been sent home, there was outrage when this occured because of all the children who were sent to school that morning were set to come home to empty houses. Local churches and schools stepped in to make sure the kids were not home alone. This is another over sight on the part of the agency, which obviously did not have a plan for dealing with the childern, I thought they would have learned something from the mess they created at the border. Don’t get me wrong I believe that our nations laws should be respected and enforced. but the way we are going about this is so ugly, Jackson Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba said on CNN the raids showed an absence of humanity. An ICE spokeman said that everyone arrested in Wednesday was given access to cell phones for the purpose of making arrangements for the care of their children. Meanwhile the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services has been flooded with calls but none from the federal government, according to MDCPS Communications Director Leanne Ann Brandon the agency was never notified that their services might be needed in this situation. Consider this, if a person has been in the US. for more than 2 years illegally with a family, but is working and supporting the local  economy, then charge them and their employer a penalty, require them to seek citizenship and get them on the tax rolls. And also reach out to countries where these people are coming from and see what we can do to make them wanna stay at home. If not we are simply perpetuating a vicious cycle.
