RANDOM THOUGHT’S:
Some of us have gotten two comfortable with the idea of mass shootings, and unfortunately they all appear to be republicans. I believe thats why Congress nor the President has been willing to lend support to more detailed background checks for gun purchasers. No one has perposed taking away anyone’s guns, but tougher background checks could prevent the kind of carnage that saw more than 50 people killed and dozens more injured in August alone. Now we have started September with a shooting outside the Minnesota State Fair, three people were injured two 20 year olds and 0ne 18 year old and the gunman remains unknown. This was the last night of the fair that typically draws hundreds of thousands of visitors daily, 250.000 on sunday alone. With those kind of numbers the St Paul had a very heavy police presence so it was unusal something like this would happen. What will it take to start a serious dialogue on making our streets safer. The current atmosphere in this country makes one think twice about being part a large group of people, going to a football or basketball game etc. St. Paul Police spokesman Steve Linders said “It was truly a chaotic scene “. ” To see something like this is nothing short of outrageous”. Well it seems that the right people (Sen. Mitch McConnell) have not become outraged.
