RANDOM THOUGHT’S:

Special counsel Robert Mueller finally broke his silence Wednesday, and in a few words spoke volumes. Stating that if President Trump didn’t commit a crime he “would have said so,”  He also suggested in his remarks that it was congress’s job to formally accuse a sitting president of a crime. I have learned that although Mueller said charging the president with a crime was not an option because of Justice Department rules. Those rules are actually based on the Constitution which prevent a sitting president from being charged by the criminal justice system. The Constitution requires a process namely the impeachment process. Mueller went on to say in his brief remarks that “Under long standing department policy, a president cannot be charged with a federal crime while in office. That is unconstitutional even if the charge is kept under seal and hidden from the public. Mueller also announced that he would be resigning from the Justice Department post to return to private life. and the special counsel’s office would be shut down. Well the ball is now clearly in Congress’s court, It will be intresting to see if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi can continue to avoid a call for impeachment from new members of the House. Since such a vote would stand little chance of success in the Republican controlled Senate. It’s the rock and a hard place and they both feel the same.
