What happened to having respect for one another?. When I was a child growing up in rural Tunica County, Teachers and Preachers were some of the most respected people in the community. Now we regularly see videos on social media of students and sometimes their parents laying unholy hands on teachers. These days its now uncommon to hear a church has been broken into, “someone asked question will a man rob God? the answer is a yes!”. But things went to a new low this past sunday morning Pastor Anthony Finch Longino was opening his small church located in the 1700 block of Hill St here in Jackson. Jackson Police say the 63 year old man was found laying outside the church where he had been shot and killed. The culprits robbed him and took his 2018 Dodge Ram pickup, tag number A110355. Robbery was believed to be the motive according to JPD. These things are wrong on so many levels first of all a life was taken and thats wrong wether he was a preacher or a street sweeper. This is not the “Wild West”, we don’t live by the gun but to many people are dying by it. And it may well start at school the next time you have to leave your job to go to the school because your child is in trouble “because somebody is lying on them” consider the fact that your child my not be telling you the whole truth. Famous last words from a parent ” My child don’t lie to me”. Get the whole story so you will know whose butt you should be threating to beat.
