Tiger Woods the 43 year old golf phenom who has battled scandels and injuries that had him thinking his best golf was behind him. Won his first major championship in eleven years sunday after going into the final round trailing the leader.  Jack Nicklaus is the only golfer to pulled off something simular to this with his Masters win in 1986 after after coming from 4 shots down to win the green jacket. It also had been 11 years since he won the Masters he was 46 at the time. This was Woods first come from behind win at the masters which he has now won 5 times, Nicklaus won it 6 times. This was woods 15th major championship, Nicklaus has 18. After being ranked as low as 1,999 Woods is now ranked 12th in the Offical World Golf Rankings, He won his first title 22 years ago at the age of 21. No doubt Tiger Woods has prayed a lot in recent years with a DUI arrest, the break up of his marriage and subsequent divorce and back issues that sidelined him and required surgery, Which was followed by months of recovery and rehabilitation. Woods said that during his recovery he was able to spend time with his kids again taking them to their games and practices and school, these were some things he couldn’t do for a long time, ” Golf was not in my near or even the distant future”,Woods made the remarks at the the Golf Writers Association of America last week where he recieved the Ben Hogan Award given to the comeback player of the year. This is a great story of redemption story.
