Does it really matter how many likes you get on Instagram? Well Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri says they are looking at making the like counts private on the social media platform. If done users will be able to see their likes but no one else will. Instagram is on a campaign to be the safest of all the social media platforms. I guess Kim Kardashian and her sister Chloe as well as other celebrities who have been compensated for their likes will have to find another platform, to be “Liked”. Up and coming tastemakers and would be artists will also have to follow suit. Word on the street is there is too much pressure to post on Instagram. Which was not the original mission for Instagram. But now there are claims that it’s created a super competitive culture that is making people mentally unhealthy. I question is it all Instagrams fault? we live in a culture where a lot of adults have delegated the monitoring of their children’s social media habits to the children themselves. They allow them to access their devices during dinner and family time, i’ve even seen kids on phones during church service and no they weren’t accessing the bible app!. Some people use social media platforms to earn a living for others it’s their window on the world.
