UP IN SMOKE! WOAD 09/19/19
RANDOM THOUGHTS:
The notion that “Vaping” was a safe alternative to smoking cigarettes seem’s to be going up in smoke or maybe vapor. As more and more cases of vaping related lung illness are being reported. Some 380 cases of lung illness have been reported from 36 states accross the country and one U.S. territory. There have been six deaths reported accross six states , the latest case of vaping related lung illness was recorded here in mississippi. This is of particular concern because so many young people are vaping, I think thats due to the wide variety of flavors of vape juice that appeals to the younger users. But most of the cases of illness involved vaping THC or nicotine products, at this time no one e-cigarette device has been linked to the cases. I believe this is cause for concern because some people began using these products as a genuine means of quiting smoking. Now they could become victums of severe pulmonary disease. It just seems you can’t win and if you hooked on nicotine you can’t get out of the game. I know former smokers who now vape and despite warnings about the e-cigarettes are still using them. According to the CDC the bottom line is if you are an adult and you are concerned about the risks of using your e-cigarettes or vaping products don’t! and if you have recently used any of these products and developed a cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fever and fatigue in the last few days or weeks, see your healhcare provider But don’t start smoking agan. Thankfully most flavored vaping and e-cigarette fluid is being banned.
